Welcome to Crescent Meadow Care
At Crescent Meadow Care, we provide residential care for children and young people aged 8 to 18. Our home, Glenmorag House, is in South Manchester and offers a small, warm and supportive space where children can feel safe, settled and understood. Our aim is simple: a place to grow, belong and be heard.
Many of the children we care for have faced trauma, difficult emotions or unsettled times in their lives. We never see them as a label or a case file. Every child is their own person, with their own story, strengths and dreams.
Our care is built on real relationships, gentle routines and clear boundaries, so children know what to expect and can begin to trust the adults around them. We listen closely to what children tell us they need, and their voice is always part of their plan.
We work hand in hand with families, social workers and teachers, so each child’s plan reflects who they are, what they need and where they want to go.
If you are a placing authority or family member looking for a caring, stable home, we would be glad to hear from you.

What makes Crescent Meadow Care different
🌙 Therapeutic-Led Care
Every care plan we create is shaped by genuine clinical and therapeutic expertise, never a generic, one-size-fits-all template. We take the time to properly understand each child’s individual background, experiences, and needs before any plan is put in place, working closely with therapeutic specialists to ensure every decision is informed and purposeful. This means recognising that behaviour often communicates unmet needs, and responding with patience and insight rather than a standard set of rules. As a result, each young person’s plan evolves alongside them, adapting as they heal, grow and begin to move forward at their own pace, in their own time.
🌙 Consistent, Trained Staff
We know that trust is never given easily, especially by young people who have experienced instability or disrupted relationships in the past, which is why low staff turnover sits at the very heart of how we work. Young people in our care are supported by familiar, highly trained faces who they come to know well over time, rather than a constantly changing rotation of staff. This consistency allows genuine relationships to form naturally, giving children the security to open up, ask for help, and gradually build the kind of trust that real progress depends on. Our staff receive ongoing training and support to ensure they are equipped to meet each child’s evolving needs.
🌙 Education-Focused
For many young people facing difficult circumstances, education is often one of the first things to be disrupted, and we work hard to make sure that doesn’t happen in our care. We maintain close, ongoing coordination between our home and each child’s school, ensuring that staff, teachers and education professionals stay connected and aligned around every child’s progress. Where a young person needs extra support, whether academic, emotional or practical, this is identified early and put in place quickly. Our goal is to make sure that no child falls behind simply because of the challenges they are facing outside the classroom.
🌙 Safeguarding First
The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care comes before anything else, without exception. Every member of our team undergoes rigorous vetting and safer recruitment checks before joining us, followed by comprehensive, ongoing training throughout their time with us. This is supported by consistent oversight and regular review at every level of the organisation, from frontline staff through to senior management, ensuring that our safeguarding standards are never left to chance. Families, placing authorities and professionals can therefore have full confidence that every child placed with us is being cared for in a safe, closely monitored and accountable environment.
